Chefs Resources is a Professional Chef's informational tool for kitchen management. An online community geared toward Foodies, Front of the House Staff, Restaurant Managers, Culinarians, and Professional Chefs, the goal is to provide culinary resources that go beyond recipes, and deal with kitchen management and restaurant issues. 

The site was created by David Buchanan, Chef de Cuisine at Blackfish Wild Salmon Grill in the Tulalip Resort Casino, who has been featured in numerous articles in publications such as Seattle Dining, Seattle Times, and Northwest Wining & Dining. With the Spotlight on Chef's Resources, let's see how he uses EditMe.

Why do you use EditMe?

When I was in the process of creating the concept for Chefs Resources I decided that using a collaborative wiki as a model for building a website was essential to my design because I want to have input from other professional chefs & culinarians. 

EditMe has an ingenious design which allows beginners access to a very user friendly interface for creating a website.  And it also allows more advanced designers access to HTML and CSS code if they want more control over the layout and design.  I love that I can use the simple tools to input content and then switch to the advanced tools to get the layout tweaked the way I want it.

The support is excellent.  Every time I have had a need for help EditMe has provided me with exactly what I need in a timely fashion.

And they give me access to their professional developers and designers to help me bring my site to the next level.  This costs extra of course, but is well worth the investment.

How did you it before using EditMe?

I researched about 20 different wikis, narrowed it down to 3, actually started building Chefs Resources on another wiki but found it cumbersome.  So I switched to EditMe and have never looked back.

What's your favorite thing about EditMe?

I love the variety of editing tools!  I can use the Rich Text Editor to enter most of my content, then switch to HTML to tweak the page layout, or go into the CSS Stylesheets for more complex editing.

The tools make it easy to add and edit content.

What would make the experience better for you?

Maybe making an option to turn the "auto save" off.  I find that I spend time waiting for the auto save to finish before I can continue work.  And I save my work frequently.
