Last week you might have seen the 1 Minute Video on Managing the Horizontal Navigation Bar. The next video in this series covers the other navigation tool in EditMe: the multi-level navigation menu that lives, by default, on the left column of EditMe sites.

Tutorial: Managing the Multi-level Navigation Menu

For those who prefer to read, here's the scoop. There's a bit more detail here than in the video, so you might consider reading this in addition to watching the video...

EditMe sites include an automatically generated navigation menu in the left column that shows the content of the Menu page. The default page template in EditMe has the Menu page as a parent. So when you create new pages, they appear as children of the Menu page. And the navigation menu shows all the children of the Menu page.

The navigation menu goes a step further to expand each link when clicked to show that page's children as well. You can make this menu go as deep as you want to create a large site map, all navigable from the left-hand menu.

The contents of the menu is managed using EditMe's parent/child relationships. These can be edited on the Organize page of the Editing screen. Click the Organize link in the menu area of your site to manage these links for the Menu page. The >> links next to each relationship will allow you to manage that page's relationships. So you can cruise through your entire site's navigation structure without leaving the Organize tab. Once you're comfortable doing this, organizing your site is a breeze.

Hopefully this tip will help you get started building your wiki faster and with less hassle!
