EditMe went live today with a new release packed with powerful security features that allow multiple custom security policies to operate within a single EditMe site. A host of new user management tools adds additional horsepower to EditMe's easy-to-use and flexible group and collaboration capabilities.
Full User Management
Siite administrators now have the ability to edit all registered user details. Additional user features include the ability to temporarily lock user accounts and manage Group membership (see below). See the Users page in the online help for details.
Moderated & Confirmed Registrations
Site administrators can now choose to moderate new user registrations. If moderated, new registrations send an email notification to site administrators. Once approved, an email notification is sent to the user inviting them to log in.
Administrators can also provide a list of email addresses for users that can self-register, bypassing administrative approval, by clicking a link in an email message to confirm their email address.
Whether site administrators choose moderated registrations or not, an additional feature provides optional email notification to administrators whenever a new user registers.
See the Registrations page in the online help for details.
Custom User Groups & Policies
The most exciting feature of this release! EditMe now support multiple administrator-defined user groups. These groups can be applied to Policies that set read and write rules for public, registered, and grouped users. These Policies appear in addition to the standard "Public Read, Administrator Write" policies that appear on the Site Security section of Site Settings and in the Security dropdown when editing a page. See the Groups, Policies, and Site Security pages in the online help for details.
Page Security Search & Replace
A new screen in Site Settings allows administrators to list all pages that have a selected security setting (e.g. "Registered Read, Administrator Write") or custom Policy and replace the Security settings of those pages with another selected setting. See the Page Security page in the online help for details.
Email All Users
Site administrators can now send email to all (or selected) users of their site using a simple form in Site Settings. See the Email All Users page in the online help for details.
