OOPS (Opensource Opencourseware Prototype System) uses EditMe's web collaboration features in a grassroots effort to translate MIT's OpenCourseWare free online course offerings into Chinese.
Participants watch video courses provided by MIT in English, and transcribe the text into the EditMe site. From there Chinese speakers can efficiently translate the text of the course into Chinese.The project is making impressive progress: out of 404 lectures to be translated, 89 are already complete.
OOPS is also an example of non-English use of EditMe; the site contains extensive Chinese copy.
