A small update today affects the Blog module and any use of the _PagesByDate scripted page. Changes include a new Edit link for each blog post listed in full, the ability to include pages in blog posts, and removal of unprocessed include tags in search results.
The front page of blogs now include an Edit link in addition to the Permalink and Comment links. This link will only show for users who can edit the blog post, and only for blog posts that are displayed with full content on the blog front page.
Previously, included pages in blog posts were not processed when the post was displayed in a list of blog posts on the blog's front page. Instead of the included page content, the unprocessed include tag was displaed. This problem has been fixed and include tags are now processed for blog posts displayed this way.
Some customers have asked why include tags are not processed within search results (the small bit of text shown for each search results). Ideally, included pages would be searchable as if the page contained the included content. However, include pages are processed in real-time and the current user's security constraints are applied to show or hide each included page based on security settings. In order to support this level of personalization, include content is not indexed with the page content.
Previously, unprocessed include tags were displayed in search results. These will now be removed as pages are edited on the site.
